These are the results of the first Ballydehob flower competition in 2025.
The publication took place on the opening of the Ballydehob Festival Week on the 10th of August
by Minister Christopher O'Sullivan, for whose support we would like to express our gratitude.
The classification of the competition was as follows: 1. Private Houses Street Front,
2. Local House Estate, and 3. Town Center business premises.
We had a total of 22 participants who all put in a lot of effort.
Therefore, we would like to sincerely thank all the participants.
Ballydehob Tidy Towns asked professional gardeners to look at and evaluate the floral decorations
of the participants. According to their statement, it was not easy to choose the respective winners,
as there were many very beautiful arrangements to see.
All participants performed remarkably well.
Again, Ballydehob Tidy Towns would like to sincerely thank everyone for this.
Unfortunately, there can only be one winner in each category.
We would like to announce them hereby.
Winner of the Private House category is: Paul Field, 20 Hillside,
Due to the admirable selection, the jurors have continued to express high commendation for thefollowing participants:
Commendation no. 1:
The special Commendation for the Estate category goes to the
Commendation no. 1:
Tim Cronin, 17 Hillside, for diversity of planting and use of small space.
Commendation no. 2:
Kitty Kingston, 7 Eirí Na Gréine, for an eye-catching display.
Winner of the Estates category is: The Arches
The special Commendation for the Estate category goes to the
Hillside, for commitment to biodiversity.
Winner of the Business category: Whizzer Scissors, The Parade
Commendation for Businesses category goes to: 'The bank house'- for commitment to biodiversity' Special Award We have decided to hold another award ceremony for participants who havebeautified Ballydehob with their floral decorations for many years.
For continuous floral enhancement of their home and business premises over many many years.
The special Award goes to Caureen and Barry O’Brien of The Irish Whip.All participants have put in an incredible amount of effort and have done a great job.
We sincerely thank you all for contributing to making Ballydehob more beautiful.
