Ballydehob Tidy Towns has won a Gold Medal
in the 2025 SuperValu Tidy Towns Competitions, Category Villages, on 24.10.2025.
We are very proud of this award and sincerely thank all the volunteers who helped us achieve this great result. Many thanks to everyone who attends our weekly litter picking evenings. Thank you to all who helped on planting day, especially our wonderful helpers from CO-Action.
Many thanks to the volunteers in the beach cleaning, which takes place twice a year in Rossbrin.
Many thanks to the people of Ballydehob who once again actively supported us with their floral decorations and by picking up litter in front of their houses. A fantastic contribution came from all those who participated in the Flower Competition - private individuals, shops, and estates. It was a pleasure to admire this beautiful display of flowers.
Many thanks to the pubs and businesses that particularly supported us during the festivals and during the County Cork Anti-Litter Challenge. Especially during the Jazz Festival, the organizer was able to mobilize many additional forces without whom we would have hardly managed. This showed what a village community can achieve when thousands of visitors pour in over a weekend. Thank you to the County Council for their support during the festivals.
We would like to express special thanks to the Ballydonut biodiversity group. They have helped us develop in the category “Biodiversity”. Joint projects such as the Sand Martin Wall, Flower Meadow, Apple Day, and the Orchard have been or are being implemented. For us, it is a bubbling source of knowledge about biodiversity that greatly excites us. We received very valuable support in the area of pollinator-friendly planting from Crooked Boot Farm, to whom we would also like to express our thanks.
Thank you very much to all volunteers in our organization like public relations and committee members. Thank you to Fastnet Trails for their support with signs and benches and to the GAA for the annual spring cleaning. Thank you to the Community Council, the Community Hall and Tennis Club for their support.
Thank you very much to all.
