Colourful bustle at the Jazz Festival in Ballydehob with a great parade on Sunday. Fantastic music in all pubs and cafes. More than 100 caravans and nearly as many tents. There was a lot for Ballydehob Tidy Towns and the festival organization to do, with excellent support from the County Council. Every morning, an incredible number of volunteers showed up and actively collected and sorted rubbish. Many thanks to all of you.
This time we separated recycling material and general waste. Thanks to the local school Scoil Bride, which set up a deposit return bin that was emptied several times, we succeeded very well in waste separation. Thanks to the County Council's rubbish trailer, we were able to separate general waste and recycling material. Food cans and bottles were taken by the helpers directly to the recycling point.
It has been shown that a village can also be kept clean even with such a large influx of visitors. Thanks to the volunteer helpers, the very active Tidy Town group, the festival organization, and the County Council.
